Live! with Kat and Curt

Tomorrow, September 22nd, geeks around the world will celebrate Tolkien Day (or Hobbit Day, as it’s come to be known) in celebration of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins’ shared birthday. Kat and Curt will be participating in the festivities as part of the Mythgard Institute’s first-ever student-hosted webathon.

The event will run live from Elevenses to Elevenses (11 am to 11 pm EDT) and will be brimming with lots of fantasy and sci-fi related content. If you’d like to hear Kat and Curt live, tune in during the afternoon sessions. From 1-3 pm EDT, Kat will co-host a segment discussing non-Tolkienian fantasy literature. She will hand things over to Curtis at 3 pm for chats and interviews on all sorts of topics. At around 4 pm, Kat will chime in with Curtis and special guest Ed Powell for an exclusive, one-off episode of Kat and Curt’s TV Re-View discussing that other wonderful Joss Whedon show, Firefly. We’ll be focusing on Curtis’ favorite episode “Out of Gas.” This special bonus episode will not be recorded or released, so if you want to hear our thoughts you have to join us live.

The event will stream live here, or you can register to participate for free here. This is a great opportunity to hear enthusiastic talk about literature and art, as well as see what Mythgard is all about and and what the “Netmoot” interface is like. Mythgard will also be accepting donations all day, and special perks for donations will be made available during the webathon. We hope to see you there!
